Montmorency vs. Balaton is the newest incarnation from Jester King, to be released at their taproom on June 16th, 2017.
This is the 4th version of this barrel-aged sour brewed with Montmorency and Balaton cherries from Michigan. As always, they start with Hill Country well water, to brew a pale wort that is fermented in a foudre and then moved to oak barrels to age for 8-14 months. The brew is then refermented with the prized Michigan cherries, then left to condition in bottles. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one. She’s a beaut.
